Getting God's Word Into Schools
One of the things we enjoy doing is equipping students with ways to share God’s Word with their friends at school. When doing outreaches over the years, students have given out copies of the Book of Hope (www.onehope.net), the Gospel of John (www.pocketpower.org), and New Testaments (www.biblicadirect.com). We were introduced to something new this year called The Life Book. The Life Book - a division of The Gideons - contains the Gospel of John along with a summary of the Old Testament along with notes to help students understand what they are reading. Back on April 1st, we had five youth groups from Uniontown come together to prepare for an outreach with The Life Book. We worshiped together, prayed for our schools, watched some training videos and invited students to come forward to take a stack of Life Books to give their friends at school the next day. It was great to see students excited about sharing God’s Word with their friends. The students gave out 1000 Life Books in five local schools. One student told us, “I gave out my life books and I had friends ask for more!” (Kameron Shoaf, Frazier High School). We’re looking forward to seeing students do this outreach in other areas next school year.
